BOOK'S:"THE SHACK"

"THE SHACK"
BY WILLIAM P. YOUNG

SEEKING FORGIVENESS AND LOVE

AS I MENTIONED IN AN INTERVIEW, 2 YEARS AGO IN BERKELEY,THERE
HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES IN MY LIFE WHEN I CERTAIN THAT THE END WAS
NEAR.THERE HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES WHEN I HAVE WONDERED HOW &
WHY A WAS ABLE TO SURVIVE.I AM NOT A PREACHER-I AM AN ARTIST
SO I'M NOT ABLE TO SUGGEST ANY WORD'S OF WISDOM.
I'VE ALLWAYS THOUGHT,SINCE I WAS A YOUNG CHILD,THAT I WAS PART
OF SOMETHING BIGGER,MUCH BIGGER THAN MYSELF.I DIDN'T HAVE A NAME
FOR IT-I JUST HAD A VERY STRONG FEELING.
I WENT THRU SOME VERY GREAT LOSS'S AND PERSONAL TRADAGIES
IN MY YOUTH AND I STRUGGLED GREATLY TO COPE WITH UNBEARABLE PAIN
AND SEEMINGLY UN-ENDING SORROW.STILL,I NEVER GAVE UP COMPLETELY.
I KNOW THAT I WAS LUCKY THAT I COULD RELEASE ALOT OF MY PENT-UP
FEELINGS IN THE MUSIC THAT I MADE.I'LL BE FOREVER GREATFUL FOR
THAT.
BUT IN THE END,I HAD TO LET GO OF ALL MY PERSONAL SELF-HATRED
AND EVEN FORGIVE THOSE WHO HAD CAUSED MUCH OF MY PAIN..IN THE
END THAT WAS THE ONLY WAY I COULD BE THE ARTIST THAT I WANTED TO
BE-AND NOT BE CAUGHT FOREVER IN A NEVER-ENDING SPIRAL OF HATE.
I HAD TO CHOOSE LOVE.READ "THE SHACK" AND PERHAPS YOU'LL CHOOSE
LOVE TOO.

MY BEST REGARDS,

PETE HOLLY
